A reduced version first issued in Hawkesworth’s official accounts of Cook, Byron, Wallis and Caterect’s voyages. The map shows New Guinea and the islands of New Britain and New Ireland. The tracks of William Dampier 1699-1700 through the Bismarck Archipelago are shown. The chart also depicts the coast of New Guinea and features Carteret’s tracks of 1767 between New Britain and New Ireland, as well as Cook’s tracks through Endeavour Strait.
