Description:

Born in Somerset, the son of a farmer he joined the buccaneers in 1683 and 1686 sailed the Pacific in the Cygnet and then onto New Holland in 1688. Upon his return he was looked upon as an authority on the region. He returned in the H.M.S Roebuck visiting Shark Bay in 1699. One of the few C18th maps to concentrate on New Holland. Condition: Two unobtrusive worm holes top left, minor spots to lower margin, a little offsetting as usual otherwise in good condition.
