One of the earliest English printed maps solely devoted to Ireland. Superbly embellished with a large compass rose at lower left and a ornate title within a strap work design. Sea monsters and a galleon are added to the stipple engraved sea. Orientated with north to the right of the map.
This example is without text on verso and no plate number, 1610.
First issued 1607 in Camden’s Britannia with Latin text to verso.
Second issue 1610 lacks text to verso.
Third issue 1637, only issue with engraved plate number
