Description:

WWII Japanese propaganda photograph of Field Marshall Count Hisaichi Terauchi, Commander of the Southern Expeditionary Army Group during World War II. He was ordered to lead the occupation over Southeast Asia.

Terauchi personally surrendered to Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten on 30 November 1945 in Saigon and died of another stroke while in a prisoner of war camp in Malaya after the end of the war.

On original card mount with Japanese text on verso.
