Walter Hood Fitch (1817 - 1892)

Fitch attracted the attention of Sir William Hooker when he was made director of the Kew Gardens in 1841. He stayed there for the next fifty years. Fitch was a quick and extremely industrious artist, his published drawings reached the almost incredible total of 9960.
