Rare c.19th hand coloured lithograph of Tudu Island, also known as Warrior Island, a small island in the central Torres Strait, Queensland.
It lies within the traditional sea country of Torres Strait Islander peoples and is part of the island cluster situated between Prince of Wales Island and the eastern island groups.
Embossed blind stamp “Gide Editeur Paris” denoting that is from the original edition of “Voyage au Pole Sud”.
