Description:
Rare c.19th early map of Maitland dated February 1861, showing allotments with owners names, street names and reserves. A number of the reserves were claimed to have ‘permanent exclusive use‘ and the map indicates these. The government clarified the legal status of these disputed reserves by clearly refuting the claims of title. At top left is an inset, Local Sketch and lower right is the title and scale of distances.
