Rare Australian yachting engraving from the original edition of the Illustrated Sydney News. The race was between the Xariffa and Peri. The course was from Farm Cove, round the lightship, round Fort Denison, then round a boat off Curl Curl and back to Fort Denison. The race was won by Xariffa owned by a Mr Parbury and built by Sheechy of Woolloomooloo.
