Description:

The young boy Ushiwakamaru (later known as Minamoto no Yoshitsune, 1159-1189) is shown in the garden, talking with a servant of Princess Joruri, who is playing a koto (zither). According to the C15th tale Joruri-hime monogatari, Joruri was the daughter of Yoshioka Ki’ichi who fell in love with Ushiwakamaru and then killed herself when he left.
