This image is from “Paeonia Moutan, a Collection of Choice Varieties.” Produced by the Yokohama Seed Company, Ltd. the most successful exporter of plants from Japan which was a co-operative of Japanese nursery owners who worked together to export seeds and plants from the 1890s through the early 1920s. They had a major influence in the introduction of exotics into Europe and America.
