First edition and first issue of Barrington’s, New South Wales based on David Collins, The English Colony in New South Wales.

This issue is identified by the incorrect spelling of Parramatta in the title, Pamaratta which was corrected in later issues. Our copy corresponds with Abbey 565, includes the very rare list of plates following the two page note from the publisher to the reader. Abbey notes: The above copy is almost certainly bound from parts, since it contains the rare List of Plates, …which would only have been issued with the parts, and usually have been destroyed by the binder.

It seems that the second issue of this book, with the title corrected and is also dated 1802 is usually incorrectly described and sold as being the first edition.
