Description:
Moore’s Wharf is recognised as of the oldest wharves at Miller’s Point which held a prominent position for shipping in the area. It had been popular with importers due to the room it offered to unload cargo and the road infrastructure to the area at the time. It’s disadvantages were that, like Circular Quay, it was unable to accommodate vessels close alongside the wharf and only afforded docking of two vessels at any onetime.
For over 60 years Moore’s wharf was one of the busiest on The Point and it was not until the early 1900’s that Moore’s Road was renamed Dalgety Road.
